The total number of entries in the Crash the Superbowl competition has inched up from 4047 to 4062. Over on the contest forum there seemed to be a lot of frantic people who’s entries never appeared in the gallery. So hopefully this means that all those folks have had their issues resolved and all entries that were submitted by the deadline are now up.
Officially, Doritos will be announcing their 6 finalists for the Crash the Superbowl Competition on January 5th. But from what I’ve read around the interwebs, they will start notifying those finalists in the middle of this month. So if you haven’t heard anything by Christmas you probably should make other plans for the Superbowl.
Recently we asked you guys to send us tips for what you thought were the best Crash entries submitted this year. We’ll be announcing our picks for our favorites next Wednesday. So check back to see if you’re a winner! (in our hearts) And if you have any other entries you want to bring to our attention, leave the links as a comment to this post.

This one is pretty dang funny and keeps decent momentum!
1773??.. Not bad, but not a winner. Most of the videos for this are just plain stupid and they don’t make any sense at all.. There’s also way to much “Suggestive” videos in this contest, even Tamorris the “Mr Big Hollywood”, director and Expert (college punk) even his video is stupid and he tried to play on the Viagra theme… Just more SEX!.. And yes my video was shown to a “Real” Hollywood director who had worked with Hitchcock said my video was very good…, but there’s no sex in mine and I know that’s what the “main stream” of viewers really like, “SEX”..

What a great contest – it’s an absolute blast watching the entries – I seen almost all of them! Some are great, and others are, well… still fun and I’m sure everyone had a great time putting them together. I saw your posting on the Doritos Forum and thought I’d take a chance to throw in my “two bits.” I submitted a spot to the contest and was hoping you would take a look. I thought I had added mine to the pile for consideration, but perhaps I just imagined so. If this is a duplicate post, please accept my apology. Like all of you, I’m jumping every time the phone rings.
I learned about the contest late, so this came together in 6 days from concept to final hour upload. I managed to pull in 11 people from a short film project who made it happen, and couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome. We shot it on a Canon 5d MKII -a digital SLR that also makes h.264 movies. DP Craig Cockerill gets all the credit for the look.

Storyline: Young boy sits down to play violin to his dog’s dislike. (Dog’s name in real life is Beehthoven!) Beethoven finally gets the boy to stop playing his screaming violin but only after a very cunning solution to the problem!
The young boy by the way actually plays the violin very well, and he graciously donated his efforts to make this comical ad come off.
We’ve been asked many times how we got the large standard poodle to a) actually react to the violin and b) actually drive the car!
Well, we won’t reveal exactly how that was done until the contest is over, but suffice it to say, Beethoven is a very talented individual!
And he loves to act!
