Pat,

The view counts have zero impact on whether or not an entry makes it to the finals. Certain videos have high view counts for several reasons. But the biggest reason is luck. Some one at doritos had to watch and approve every entry submitted. So every day a new batch of videos would appear online. The last view videos submitted wound up being posted first. That means they were the first thing that people saw when they visted the site.

So again, views and comments mean nothing. The judges probably won’t even watch the videos on the contest site so they won’t know how many times a certain video has been viewed.

I can’t figure out how some of the worst ones have the most views!!! Do the number of views matter when Doritos picks the finalists?

I spent about about two hours hour watching these today. So many are just plain awful. LOTS of the same ideas repeated. Some really creative ones, though.

I like the fact that these two feature the same two cops. They could easily be recurring characters, like the Geico cavemen.

Hey Beardy- That’s a fair assessment. I ran out of time to edit it b/c I didn’t want to miss the submission deadline.

In the intro, I wanted to have it say

” Saved by the Crunch” with the Doritos logo instead of having it in the end. That way, the story would have played out better I think.
