Happy Birthday America, let’s party like it’s 2776!

Good morning, America!  What a great day to be alive in the land of the free and the home of the proud whopper.  I’m in a great mood and not just because it’s the 4th of July.  A few days ago a big swath of storms rolled across the Chicago area and knocked out my power.  I was living in the dark for days but the lights are finally back.  It was weirdly refreshing to go without TV or my computer or the Internet for days.  I sat in the dark and read Tom Sawyer by candlelight just as my forefathers did.  LOL/JK.  Half of those old goofballs were illiterate drunks and the rest spoke french and polish. Anyway, now that the power’s back I’m going to celebrate by downloading my own copy of the newly-released, soon-to-be epic smash hit comedy album, 2776.  The project was co-created by friend of VCN and super video contest winner, HappyJoel Moss Levinson and features tracks from everyone in the world that you think is cool including Patton Oswalt, Aubury Plaza, Margaret Cho, Ed Helms, Ira Glass, Nina Totenberg, Neko Case, Alex Trebeck, Paul F. Tompkins and more.  I’ve listened to some samples and the whole album sounds super bonkers.  As the title implies, 2776 imagines the United States in its 1000th year of existence.  Here’s a track from Wil Forte that had me CUMB-ing (Chuckling Under My Breath) all the way through:

All the profits for this project go to to an incredible charity, OneKid OneWorld.  You can buy individual tracks or the entire album here on iTunes:  http://bit.ly/2776itunes.  Or if you’re my mom and you want a physical CD, you can order one here:  http://bit.ly/2776amazon.

  1. Thanks for the awesome words! (and also the invention of a hilarious word to describe chuckling under your breath.)

And thanks to everyone who buys and supports!
