Doritos’ “Nacho Average Ad Award” winners

This year Doritos added an unexpected element to the Crash the Super Bowl contest.  After the submission deadline passed, the Crash judges nominated a bunch of submissions for something the called the “Nacho Average Ad awards.”  There were 8 categories in total; Weirdest Workplace, Best Supporting Babe, Sweetest ‘Stache and….ok, I forget the rest.  Anyways, the winners were determined by a public vote and the results were announced a few days ago.  Each winner gets a year’s supply of Doritos(!) and a trophy.  Doritos asked the winners to create their own acceptance videos.  The montage of all those videos is pretty weird and worth checking out:

The video mentions that this was the first and “maybe annual” Nacho Average Award competition.   I really like this idea and I hope they bring in back again next year.  It’s nice that some of the non-finalists are able to get a little glory.   Actually, I think FritoLay should expand “the Nachos” and maybe give like a month’s supply of free doritos and some other swag to everyone who gets nominated. A UPS package full of even 50 bucks worth of free stuff is a great way to show Doritos’ die hard fans that their work is appreciated.

Tony, thanks for the heads up. I found a different version of the video and posted it.

Huge props to my friend Ryan Andersen who represented Phoenix, AZ with his Nacho Award for “straight A” award. Him and Raj should have won the thing last year but HUGE congrats to them this year as well!

And they do not attend that church in LA, nor did they have a baby or a dog or guys getting hit in the nuts in their spot. Oh crap, that’s why they didn’t make the final cut! LOL!
